Instructions

    • 1

Remove the DSL filters from the 2Wire modem box. Disconnect all telephone lines from the wall jacks. Plug the DSL filter directly into the phone jacks and connect the telephone lines directly into the DSL filter's jack that has the label "phone".

    • 2

Remove the 2Wire modem from its box and find a cool set-up location near a power outlet and telephone jack. Keep the 2Wire modem away from other electronics to avoid overheating.

    • 3

Place one end of the telephone cord into the back of the 2Wire modem. Connect the other end of the telephone cord to the DSL filter's phone jack with the label "DSL".

    • 4

Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the back of the 2Wire modem. Place the other end of the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port of the computer while the computer is off.

    • 5

Connect the 2Wire power adapter into the back panel of the 2Wire. Plug the 2Wire modem directly into the power outlet. The 2Wire modem will start once the connection to the power outlet is complete.

    • 6

Turn on the computer and open the web browser of your choice. The 2Wire set-up wizard will open automatically, no additional software is necessary.

    • 7

Enter the username and password that the Internet service provider includes with the 2Wire modem. The setup will create a password protected network.

Tips & Warnings

  • DSL filters, telephone and Ethernet cables are in the 2Wire box.

  • Keep the username and password in a safe place in case the system needs restoring at a later date.

  • Failing to install the DSL filters will cause a high-pitch squealing sound when the telephones are in use.
