The Sims Resource (TSR) Workshop is a program that allows users to create custom content for the simulation video game "The Sims 3." Users can choose to edit existing content in the game or create original objects for your sims. Many types of objects can be created, such as makeup, hairstyles, clothing, accessories, house hold items and floor patterns. Once you have downloaded TSR Workshop you can begin creating new content for your sims.

Create an account with The Sims Resource website to download TSR Workshop. Double click the download file, and follow the instructions to install the program.

Launch TSR Workshop, click "Create New Project," or click "File" and select "New" to begin a new project.

Select the type of object you want to create or clone. You can choose clothing, physical features, hair styles, accessories or objects.

Select the item you wish to edit or clone from the drop-down list on the right side of the program. Click "Next" when you have selected an item.

Type in the name, title and description for the new project. The title is what it will appear as in game, while the project name is the file name on the hard drive.

Input a unique identifier for the project. This has to be something unique to the file, or else it will replace an already existing in-game object. You can use letters or numbers to create a unique identifier. Click "Next."

Edit the project however you desire, changing the color, texture or model. You can import other program files, such as Photoshop, or a model editing program to insert into the project.

Click "File" and select "Save As" to keep a copy of the project. Click "File," "Export" and select "To Sims3Pack" to create the project installation file. This can be placed in "The Sims 3" directory to load in-game.
