1
Plan before getting online what tasks need to be completed. Make a list of tasks and list according to what is most urgent, what is important and what is not as important or urgent. Work down the list, focusing on one task at a time until it's completed. Avoid checking e-mail or visiting your social networking websites until after the urgent and important jobs are completed or schedule break times for these things.

2
Schedule a set time each day for online working hours. Set a timer for a specified time and don't deter from planned work until the timer goes off. This will help keep you focused and on track while working. Look at your task list and determine if you can multi-task jobs. Focus on those urgent jobs first, checking them off as you go.

Break big projects down into smaller tasks. This will help to keep you from getting overwhelmed and procrastinating. At the end of each day, look over what you've accomplished and make notes on what you need to do the next day. Start every work session by going over that list and deciding before you start what is most urgent to focus on.

Take breaks during your scheduled work times. Sitting at a computer for long periods of time takes a toll on your body and your eyes. Get up and take a walk for awhile. If working from home, rotate between computer work and housework. Movement will stretch muscles and your eyes need the break from the bright computer screen.
