How to Remove the GUI Logon on a Mac
You can remove the graphical user interface (GUI) logon screen that is displayed when you boot your Mac OS X system by enabling automatic login in the login options of the system preferences. Automatic login removes the requirement of entering an account password upon boot. This feature should only be used when you are not concerned about other people having direct access to your user account. Apple suggests that you don't use automatic login with an account that has administrator privileges.
