How to Make a Bagua
A feng shui bagua charts out the eight different life areas and is one of the basics of feng shui. A bagua map indicates where your energy lies and where you should put things in your house according to that feng shui energy. The eight elements are laid out into eight sections with different characteristics which are in accordance with feng shui. Making your own will give you easy reference for when you need it. The easiest way to make a Bagua chart is to make it square so it's a bit easier to understand.

Draw out a large square and mark out nine even squares within the box. You want each individual square large enough so that you can write words within each box. You also want to leave enough room around the large square so you can write words outside the box.

Start with the square in the top, left corner. Color this square purple or green and label it "Prosperity" or "Wealth." Write outside the box with the words "Sun," "Jade" and "Citrine." Some of the words will describe an element, like sun. Other words will describe items that you could decorate inside your living space with like jade.

Color in the top center box with red and label it "Fame." Write words outside the box like "Fire," "Garnet," "Li," and "South." When a box has a direction in it, this should correspond with your living area. For example, since Fame has the word South, your fame area needs to be directionally south.

Look to the top right hand box and color it with pink or white. Label it "Relationships and Marriage." Write additional words outside the box like "K'un," "Rose Quartz" and "Rhodonite."

Go to the center row of your box and begin with the square furthest to the left. Color it in green and write "Family" in the box. Include other words outside the box like "Chen," "Past," "East," "Wood" and "Malachite."

Color in the center square with yellow and write "Center." Include "Health" or "Earth" in the center. Write out additional words like "Pyrite."

Color in the right-hand square within the center row with white and write "Children or Creativity." Include additional words like "Past," "Metal," "West," "Tui" and "Ice Quartz."

Look to the bottom row and start at the bottom left-hand square. Color it in with a blue or green and write "Spirituality or Knowledge." Include other words like "Ken," "Introspection" and "Amethyst."

Color in the bottom center square in black or dark blue and write out "Career." Include additional words like "K'an," "Water," "North," "Hematite" and "Passions.

Go to the bottom right hand corner and color it with white or grey and label it "Travel and Guidance" or "Helpful People." Include additional words like "Ch'ien," "Inspiration," "White Jade" and "Moonstone."
