How to Sync iPhone & Mac Things

The "Things" productivity application is available on both the Mac and iPhone iOS 4 so you can stay organized while at your computer or whenever you are on the go. Set up the "Things" sync feature to get the most out of the program on your Mac and iPhone. Synchronizing "Things" allows you to maintain the latest information on both the iPhone and on your Mac. The iPhone and Mac must be connected to the same wireless Internet network to sync properly.

      Open the "Things" program on your Mac.

      Tap the "Things" icon on your iPhone Home screen to launch the app.

      Click the "Things" menu on your Mac. Select "Preferences." The Preferences dialog opens.

      Select the "Devices" tab from the top of the Preferences dialog. Then click the "Add Device" button. Your iPhone appears in the device's list.

      Select your iPhone from the device's list. Click the "Setup" button. The setup prompt displays a four-digit number. On your iPhone, an on-screen keypad opens.

      Enter the four-digit number from the setup prompt into the keypad on the iPhone screen. Click the "Done" button on the iPhone. A green check mark appears next to the four-digit number.

      Click the "Sync Now" button displayed on the iPhone to sync the application.
