How to Upload iWeb to the Web

Apple's iWeb program is a part of the iLife suite of software preinstalled on every new Macintosh computer. With iWeb, designing websites is relatively easy with a "What You See Is What You Get" approach to Web design. Websites designed with iWeb are HTML-compliant and follow Internet standards. You can upload a website created in iWeb by configuring iWeb to connect to your Web hosting company's FTP server to transfer the website from your computer to the public Internet over FTP.

Instructions

    • 1

Open iWeb and click the root of your website in the left column of the window.

    • 2

Click "FTP Server" under "Publish to."

    • 3

Enter the FTP information provided by your Web hosting company in the "FTP Server Settings" category. This includes the domain name or IP address, the user name, password, path, version of FTP and port number.

    • 4

Click "Test Connection" to verify connectivity.

    • 5

Click "Publish Site" to upload the iWeb website to your Web host.
