How to Recognize the Taiwanese Flag

The Taiwanese flag is easy to recognize.

The pattern and colors on the Taiwanese flag have a special meaning. According to the Central Intelligence Agency World Factbook, the flag's most predominant color, red, represents "fraternity, sacrifice, and nationalism." The second most common color, blue, stands for "liberty, justice, and democracy," while the symbol in the center means "equality, frankness, and the people's livelihood." Finally, the tips around the sun symbol represent the months and the twelve Chinese hours. Representations aside, the Taiwanese flag is easy to recognize once you're familiar with it.
