How to Write a 30 Second Job Pitch
Perfecting a 30 second job pitch prepares hopeful applicants to make positive, lasting first impressions. A rehearsed and memorized job pitch conveys essential resume information while communicating confidence and preparation. The brief job pitches -- also called "elevator speeches," as the concept was designed to enable applicants to share essential information in the time it takes an elevator to travel between the top and bottom floor of a building -- is also useful in employment interview introductions.

Tips & Warnings
Use simple, powerful language.
Write down several different pitches before memorizing one. Read it aloud and record yourself. Highlight parts that you like and remove those that you don't. When you feel it is perfected, leave it for a day before doing a final edit.
Practice delivering the pitch to a friend, mentor or mirror. Begin the delivery with a handshake and maintain constant eye contact. Practice until the entire pitch is memorized and can be presented
smoothly and confidently.
Update the pitch periodically as needed.
Do not use long words or complicated vocabulary. The point of a 30 second pitch is to be direct and understandable.
