DIY Halloween Luminaries
Halloween luminaries are a good way to recycle milk jugs and light up your walkway during the Halloween season. These decorations are so simple to make but look ghostly and beautiful on a driveway, sidewalk or lining a front porch. Greet trick-or-treaters with spooky luminaries. Things You'll Need
- Galllon or half-gallon plastic milk jugs
- Black felt-tip marker
- Black craft paint
- Paint brush
- Sharp craft knife
- Clear Christmas lights

Wash the milk jugs in soapy, warm water and towel dry them. They may need to dry overnight to ensure there is no water or milk left in the jugs.

Paint faces on the front of the jugs using a permanent black felt-tip marker or craft paints. Make big ghost eyes and mouths, or get creative and draw other spooky faces, such as a cat or a monster.

Cut a small hole in the back of each jug with a sharp craft knife.

Fill the jugs with lit, clear Christmas lights. Set the luminaries next to one another and place a small part of the strand of lights into each jug. One strand of lights should be enough for several jugs.
