Cannot Send a File As an Attachment Directly From an MS Office Program With Outlook

Office is an suite of applications that includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. The suite allows the user to create documents, presentations and manage e-mail and contacts. At times, after creating a document in Word or Excel, the user may want to seamlessly send it as an attachment through Outlook. To be able to accomplish this task, the proper settings need to be applied to the computer's Microsoft framework.

Instructions

    • 1

Launch your Internet Explorer. Click "Tools" in the main menu bar. Select "Internet Options."

    • 2

Choose the "Programs" tab. Click the "Set programs" button on the page and click the "Set your default programs" link.

    • 3

Select "Outlook" in the listing of e-mail programs. Click on the "Set this program as default" link.

    • 4

Click the "OK" button. Close the "Choose the programs that Windows uses by default" window and then click the "OK" button. Restart your computer. Your Outlook application is now set as default and, as a result, will allow you to send a file as an attachment directly from an Office program.
