How to Oil a Singer Izek 150 Sewing Machine
Knowing how to properly oil your Singer sewing machine and how often to oil it can make all the difference between enjoyable, productive sewing and frustration. Sewing machine oil is a lubricant, meant to keep the interior mechanisms running smoothly. It allows for free movement of the components necessary for easy, carefree sewing.

1
Clip the upper tip of the sewing machine oil bottle. Be sure to have a paper towel handy, in case the oil comes out from the top. Do not use substitute household oils like a 3 in 1 oil; these oils are not designed to be used in sewing machines because they can stain your fabrics as you sew.
-
2
Read the owner's manual. Become familiar with the areas to oil on the sewing machine; these are sometimes noted by an oil drop picture near the holes in the machine's exterior.

3
Remove all fabrics from the machine and from the area, so the oil does not stain. Using gentle pressure, drip 3 drops of the sewing machine oil into the designated areas on the machine.
-
4
Wipe off all excess oil drops from the machine's case. Using the manual sewing machine dial, maneuver the mechanisms, so the oil is distributed freely within the machine's interior.

Tips & Warnings
Oil the machine often, depending on the use. Frequent use would require weekly oiling.
If your machine begins to sound clunky or noisy as you sew, it is a good indication it needs oiling.
Do not use WD-40; This is solvent based and is not a lubricant.
