How to Get Odors Out of Upholstery
Keeping upholstery clean is a job in itself, not to mention the odors that sometimes develops. Whether you have an old sofa that has been in storage and collected an unpleasant smell, or a lounge chair that the dog likes to sleep on, you may want to deodorize the upholstery. Use something that will not damage or discolor the upholstery, but make sure the cleaning elements are strong enough to deodorize. Does this Spark an idea?

Sprinkle the upholstery with a light coating of baking soda, which will naturally absorb odors, pulling the unpleasant smell out of the upholstery. Let the baking soda sit overnight or at least a few hours.

Run a vacuum cleaner hose attachment over the upholstery to collect the baking soda quickly.

Pour white vinegar into a spray bottle. Mist the white vinegar over your upholstery. Vinegar is another natural deodorizing agent that will not damage the upholstery, and will not introduce any harmful chemicals into your home.
