Share the weather in your backyard with others by becoming a WeatherBug Backyard Station. Your live weather reports are viewable by Apple iPhone, BlackBerry and other online users. Weather enthusiasts can share their data with family, friends and other people curious about the atmosphere and changing weather conditions. Weather stations provide the current temperature, rain totals, humidity, dew point, wind gusts and air pressure for your area. The information is updated minute-by-minute with a weather station reading device.

Purchase a weather station. WeatherBug partners with Ambient Weather to sell different weather stations. As of Spring 2011, each model varied in price, ranging from $249 to $528.99.

Set up your weather station. All models connect to a computer using an Internet connection.

Fill out a "WeatherBug Backyard Registration" form -- see the Reference section for the link. Provide your name, mailing and email addresses and phone number. You will have to create a login name and password to use on WeatherBug.com. You will also have to name your personal weather station and provide the latitude, longitude and elevation of the device.

Wait at least 32 hours to hear from WeatherBug about your account. You will receive an email from WeatherBug, when your station is running on the backyard network.
