How to Get Rid of the Big Pillars in "Zelda: Ocarina of Time"

"Ocarina of Time" is a classic role-playing game in the "Zelda" series on the Nintendo 64. You play as Link, the hero whose mission is to defeat the evil Ganon. You finally get to confront Ganon in the final level, Ganon's Castle, but like all other levels in the game, there are several puzzles you must first complete. A few of these puzzles involves moving a large pillar. To move these pillars, you need the Golden Gauntlets, which are found in the Shadow Barrier section of the level, which you must complete after you finish the Forest Barrier and Water Barrier.

Instructions

    • 1

Light the torch on the island across from you by shooting a fire arrow. After you complete the Water Barrier, you will be standing in the middle of a platform; the island you need to reach is to your right.

    • 2

Jump across the small islands until you reach the main island where you lit the torch. Once on the main island, you will encounter a Like Like, a tube monster. Kill the Like Like with your sword.

    • 3

Shoot the torch again with another fire arrow to make the islands come back.

    • 4

Jump across the next set of islands until you reach a permanent island with a switch on it. Step on the switch; this will make a chest appear.

    • 5

Use your hookshot to pull you to the chest.

    • 6

Put on the Lens of Truth to see a path that leads to a switch platform; follow this path.

    • 7

Use your hammer to pound the switch and open the chest; return to the chest to acquire the Golden Gauntlets.

    • 8

Put on the Golden Gauntlets whenever you encounter a large pillar in your way; this will allow you to move the pillar. There are two pillars in Ganon's Castle: one directly outside the Light Barrier, and one in the next section, the Fire Barrier.
