How to Change Your Character in "Grand Theft Auto"


Grand Theft Auto is a video game and a computer game where you play a character who is responsible for fulfilling different missions largely related to stealing cars. You can also play the game online in many different modes. In the original version of Grand Theft Auto, the appearance of your character was not able to be changed. However, with the introduction of Grand Theft Auto 4, your character can now be altered to your own personally desired attributes.

  • Turn on the game console or enter online play on your computer. Enter in your password and user name if you are playing the online version on the computer. Log into your account and load up the game.

  • Access the character's cell phone. In Grand Theft Auto 4, the character carries around a cell phone that rings to inform you of missions or supply you with important information during the period of game play. You can access your character's cell phone by simply pressing up on the directional pad of a controller or hitting the up arrow on your computer's keyboard.

  • Select multiplayer from screen which will appear that allows you to select a different mode of play. Choose the mode of multiplayer you would like to participate in. You will be presented with a list of 14 available game lobbies for these types of games. From the lobby you will be instructed to then create your own personal Grand Theft Auto character to represent you during multiplayer play.

  • Scroll through all of the options to make your character unique from everyone else. You may do this by selecting the gender, hairstyle, facial features, clothing, and weapon that you like the best. Once you have done all of this be sure to save your character in their personal form and then begin playing the game as your newly developed personal character.
