Recycling your computer card will prevent it from ending up in a landfill.

Recycling your old computer cards benefits the environment and helps to reduce waste that ends up in our landfills. If you are upgrading the video card in your computer or replacing a burnt out graphics card, do not throw away your old card. Finding a recycling center that accepts electronics and their accessories does not take much time and can even be profitable in some areas.

Instructions

Bring your computer card to your local electronic store such as Best Buy, Apple or Radio Shack. Depending on the store and the condition of your computer card, you may even receive store credit or a store gift card for recycling the card. If the store cannot use your computer card in another computer, they will send it off to be recycled.

Visit an "Ewaste" website such as Earth911.com, DigitalTips or MRMrecycling and enter your location for a drop-off location in your area. These websites will provide you with a list of locations that accept electronic type items for recycling. Depending on the center you select, you may be paid for recycling your items or be able to use it as a tax deductible.

Contact your city's local recycling center and inquire if you may place your computer cards out with your curbside recyclables. Most cities offer curbside recycling or drop off bins for apartment complexes. Depending on your location, your city may allow you to place electronics and their accessories into your local recycling bin.
