How to Allocate More Memory to an AutoCAD Inventor in Windows 64

All of the running programs on your computer are using a little bit of your computer's available system memory at all times. Even if you aren't using a particular program window it is still eating up some of your RAM. If you want to allocate more memory to a specific program like AutoCAD Inventor you can do so using the Task Manager in the 64-bit Microsoft Windows operating system.

  • Right-click on the task bar.

  • Choose the option reading "Start Task Manager."

  • Click "Processes." Right-click on the listing for AutoCAD Inventor. Select "Set Priority" and "High." This will tell the Task Manager to automatically allocate more system resources to AutoCAD Inventor instead of allocating memory equally among all programs.

  • Click "Applications." Right-click on any program that is open that isn't AutoCAD Inventor and click "End Task." This will close the program. The memory that those programs were using will automatically be rerouted to AutoCAD Inventor due to its "High" priority status.
