How to Store Sliced Cucumber

Sliced cucumbers are simple, crispy treat, but they only stay crunchy for a brief time. You can dip them in salad dressing or hummus, use them to top salads, or add a layer to your favorite sandwich. You should cut only as many slices as you intend to use immediately, because sliced cucumbers have a relatively short shelf life. If you do cut too many cucumber slices, or you want to make them ahead, you can store them safely for only a day or two.

Things You'll Need

  • Airtight container

    • 1

Slice the cucumbers as you would normally.

    • 2

Place the cucumber slices in an airtight container with a lid.

    • 3

Add a few tablespoons of water to the container to keep the cucumbers moist.

    • 4

Cover the container and place in the refrigerator. Sliced cucumbers will remain fresh when stored this way for up to two days.
