How to Configure iTunes to Not Sync

The iTunes application allows owners to download, and manage music and video files on their portable media players. iTunes is configured, by default, to automatically sync with the music and video libraries when a device is connected. The music and video files are then automatically added to the device. Turn off the automatic syncing option in iTunes to manually manage which songs and videos are added to the devices.

Instructions

1. Attach your device to your computer using the appropriate USB cable.

2. Click "Start," then click "All Programs" and then click "iTunes."

3. Click your device icon under "Devices" in the left navigation of iTunes.

4. Click the "Summary" tab.

5. Check the box next to "Manually manage music and video."

6. Click "Apply."
