Use the keyboard shortcut to change display colors on your MacBook.

Staring at your MacBook's screen for long periods of time can tire your eyes. Occasionally, it's helpful to invert the colors on the screen to give your eyes a break, particularly when reading a long article or blog post. Or if you do any photo editing on your MacBook, inverting the colors makes finding dark spots, such as dust, on a bright picture easier. To quickly invert the colors, use the keyboard shortcut on your MacBook.

Instructions

    • 1

      Turn on your MacBook.

    • 2

Press and hold the "Option" key, the "Command" key and the "Control" key on your keyboard with your left hand.

    • 3

Press the number "8" key with your right hand and then release all the keys to invert the colors on your display screen.

    • 4

Repeat Steps 2 and 3 to return the screen to its original setting.
