How to Convert an AVI to VCD in Ubuntu

To convert an AVI file to a Video Compact Disc, or VCD, file in Ubuntu, you need to install an application that converts video files, then burn them to a VCD. The Brasero Disc Burner is installed by default when you install the Ubuntu operating system; however, one of the documented issues with Brasero is that, in some cases, the program does not burn VCD projects -- the "Burn" button remains grayed out. To burn VCDs using a program other than Brasero, install and use the K3B CD Burning tool.
