How to Join Mennonites in Pennsylvania

Mennonites are a Christian denomination based on the teachings of Menno Simons. Although the denomination originated in 16th century Europe, many Mennonites settled in the United States during the Colonial era. Mennonites began to settle in eastern Pennsylvania in 1683 and have remained there since. Mennonites hold similar beliefs to the Amish, but unlike the Amish do not adhere to strict lifestyle regulations. As of 2006, there are more than 1.5 million Mennonites practicing the religion throughout the world. Like many other religions, Mennonites welcome converts.
