Although the gift inside the box is the most important part, the presentation of the gift also plays a role in gift giving. A well-wrapped gift can help show the thought and care that went into the present. Once a present has been wrapped, you can embellish it further by tying a Christmas bow around the gift box.   • Spool of ribbon
  • Wrapped gift box
  • Scissors

Instructions

      Unwind as much ribbon as you think you will need from a spool of ribbon.

      Wrap the ribbon around the length of the box. Stop when you reach the original starting point. Hold the ribbon down with your finger, then wrap the ribbon around the width of the gift box.

      Unwind several inches to a few feet more of the ribbon. The amount you unwind depends on how large you want to make the bow. Mark this spot on the ribbon with your finger. Cut the ribbon from the spool with a pair of scissors.

      Lay the gift box down right side up. Place the center of the ribbon over the center of the box. Wrap the ribbon around the length of the box. Turn the box over, and twist the ribbon. Wrap the ribbon around the width of the box.

      Tie the two ends of the ribbon into a knot in the center of the box. Tie the ribbon into a bow at the top of the box. Cut off any excess ribbon.
