How to Make a Termite Costume
If your child wants to dress up like a termite for Halloween -- or if she needs to dress up for a science project -- then you can use simple materials that you may already have at your house to make a costume that resembles a termite. A termite is a pesky insect that eats woods and can do extreme damage to homes, buidlings, and wooden objects if these objects and the surrounding areas are not treated with chemicals to prevent them.
Things You'll Need
- Tan sweat suit
- Quilt batting
- White face paint (hypo-allergenic)
- Brown antennas
- Head band
- Brown pipe cleaners
Instructions

1
Purchase a tan sweat suit in your child's size. Termites are brown in color.
-
2
Stuff the sweat suit once it is on your child with quilt batting. You want to make the termite look like he is fat from eating wood.
-
-
3
Cover your child's face with white or biege face paint that is hypo-allergenic.
-
4
Top your child's head with a pair of brown bug atennas. If you cannot find these atennas as a costume store, then make your own by attaching brown pipe cleaners to a head band.
