How to Tie a Knot Clasp
When you're creating a piece of jewelry, it's important to finish it properly so it will stay on without unraveling or falling off. Each piece of jewelry you make needs a clasp to attach to a closure in order to stay together. Tying a knot clasp out of two overhead knots is easy, and can be finished in just minutes. It's a simple and secure way to begin a necklace or bracelet that you'll be proud to wear or give as a gift.

Fold one length of your cord, leather, or hemp in half.

Hold the left half, and make a loop by bringing the right end under the left, passing it it through the loop counterclockwise. Pull the ends tightly to secure it.

Hold the right half, and make a loop by bringing the right end of the cord under the left and pass it through the loop clockwise. Pull to tighten the knot and finish the clasp.

Create your bracelet using the two long ends of cord, and add a bead or knot to the other end that fits through the knot clasp to complete your project.
