How to Make a Modest Homecoming Dress

Even if you have found your dream dress at the department store and are disappointed in its lack of modesty, don't give up hope. There are some simple modifications you can make to make any dress modest.

Instructions

1. Fill in deep V-necks on dresses using a complementary fabric. For instance, if your dress has a tulle skirt, find a similar-colored tulle. Secure the fabric by hand-sewing it into the neckline's hem.

2. Cover bare shoulders with a formal jacket or wrap. Both can be found in multiple colors at bridal stores.

3. Extend short skirts using lace or by adding slanted ruffles, depending on the style of dress. The added material can be found at any fabric store and sewn onto the bottom of the dress with a sewing machine or by hand.
