How to Chat With the Samsung SCH-A950
The Samsung SCH-A950 supports multiple chat services. These services, such as Yahoo Messenger, MSN and AOL Instant Messenger, are made available so that users can keep in contact and chat with friends from virtually anywhere. Depending on feature subscriptions through the carrier, extra charges may be applied for sending and receiving messages through these services. It is important to check with the carrier for the proper features to prevent extra charges on bills.

Flip open the SCH-A950. If the phone is off, hold down the "End Call" button to power it on.

Press the "OK" button on the phone's keypad. The phone's menu will pop up on screen. Scroll over to the Messaging option and press "OK." Select the option labeled Mobile IM.

Scroll through the available messaging services until the preferred service is found. Highlight it and press "OK." The application will load and the sign-in screen will appear. Use the keypad to input the service's username and password, and press "OK."

Scroll through the list of online friends that appears on the screen. Highlight the preferred username, and press "OK" to open up a chat window. Use the keypad to type a message. When finished hit "Send."
