How to Use Google Docs Like Evernote

While Google Docs and Evernote both offer different sets of functions, you can use Google Docs for the same purpose that you would use Evernote. This is useful if you do not want to use multiple applications and already use Google Docs for your cloud office work or storage. Evernote is based around making quick notes of ideas you may have wherever you are. The Google Docs word processing application can be used in a similar fashion.

Instructions

    • 1

Navigate to the Google Docs site from your desktop computer and set up a Google account if you do not already have one. Click "Create New," then "Document" and use the document as your basic note taker. The documents are automatically saved.

    • 2

Use Google Docs on your mobile phone. If you have an Android phone, you can download the Google Docs application and connect it directly to your Google account. If you do not have an Android phone, go to docs.google.com on your phone's web browser to access a mobile version of the site.

Use the Android application to upload documents while on the go. Open the application and select "Upload." This allows you to upload a photograph you have just taken, as you do in Evernote. Use the "Convert" feature once the photo is uploaded to scan that photograph for text.
