How to Make a Cobra 2000 Loud
Cobra's CIR 2000A and CIR 2000E Wi-Fi enabled Internet radios integrate digital audio with networking. The Cobra can play from disc, USB, camera-type memory card, FM radio and Internet radio. The device uses the Gracenote Internet radio database of more than 20,000 stations. EQ can be adjusted, and there are bass boosting settings. An alarm clock is included too.

1
Increase the volume with the volume control if the Cobra isn't loud enough. The volume control can be a little tricky to find because it isn't a rotary knob. Look for the two vertical buttons on the left side of the fascia about a third of the way down. They are labeled "Volume" and the upper arrow increases loudness.
-
2
Raise the volume of the source equipment if you continue to have problems with the loudness. If a music player, or similar equipment is connected to the 3.5 mm auxiliary jack, increase the volume on the music player to about 75%, then increase the volume on the Cobra to 75%. This should give you optimal loudness while avoiding clipping --- where the amplifier can't cope with the demanded power.

3
Press the "X-Bass" button to toggle between Bass Boost on or off. Bass Boost can give the sensation of more "loudness."
-
4
Try the different equalization settings with the "EQ Mode." The control toggles between Normal, Classic, Jazz, Pop and Rock optimized settings. Changing EQ settings can will loudness in certain frequencies.

Tips & Warnings
Try an alternative alarm if the alarm's beep isn't loud enough. The default is the beep, but you can choose "Internet Radio" as the alarm source. A loud Internet radio station may provide a louder wake-up alarm than the beep. Press "Setup" and scroll to "Alarm" and then "Alarm Source." Choose "Internet Radio." The first radio station in the Favorites will be used.
