How to Trim a Twitter Following List

How to Trim a Twitter Following List thumbnail
Unfollowing a user removes them from your Twitter timeline.

The Twitter social networking site allows you to follow other Twitter users so you can view the updates they post in your Twitter timeline. If you are following too many prolific Twitter posters, however, your timeline can become overcrowded, making it difficult to find information that is truly relevant to your interests. Trim the list of Twitter users you are following by "unfollowing" them.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the computer's Web browser and navigate to the Twitter login page. Type your Twitter email address and password in the spaces provided and click the "Sign In" button to sign in to your Twitter account.

    • 2

Click the "Following" link on the right side of your Twitter home page to navigate to the page that displays all of the Twitter users you are following.

    • 3

Move the mouse cursor over the link that says "Following" to the right of the Twitter user you wish to unfollow. When the cursor moves over the link, the link's text will change from "Following" to "Unfollow."

    • 4

Click the "Unfollow" link to remove the Twitter user from your following list.

    • 5

Repeat for any other Twitter users you want to remove from the list.
