Desaturating your monitor may improve picture quality.

Monitors, whether pertaining to TVs or computers, require just the right settings to improve image quality. Several monitors include a color adjustment feature that allows you to control saturation. Saturation determines the purity and richness of on-screen colors. If your monitor is highly saturated, the images may appear unrealistic. De-saturating your monitor and improving picture quality is quick and simple.

Instructions

    • 1

Press the "Power" button to turn on your monitor.

    • 2

Press the "Menu" button to access the menu. The menu button is usually located on the front or side of your monitor, depending on the manufacturer.

    • 3

Select the "Picture" option, then select the "Color" option to see your current color settings.

    • 4

Press the "Left" arrow button to decrease the color and de-saturate the images. Decreasing the color completely makes your images black and white (monochrome). If your monitor also has a color temperature feature, select the color temperature you want to use.

    • 5

Press the "Menu" or "Exit" button.

Tips & Warnings

  • Some monitors may have slightly different instructions, so refer to your unit's manual if you are unsure of how to de-saturate the colors.
