How to Draw a Snarling Werewolf
Werewolves have existed in folk tales and literature for hundreds of years and descriptions of them vary from place to place and from time to time. However in contemporary popular culture werewolves are normally depicted as a hunched biped with the enlarged upper body of a wolf and the lower body of a person. Drawing in this style allows you to experiment with a range of poses and to combine figure and animal drawing skills.

1
Draw two circles, one inside the other, with the smaller one centered roughly one-third of the way down from the top of the larger and slightly off to the left or right. Draw a cone that has been sliced in half lengthwise sticking out from the smaller circle. This forms the werewolf's snout.
-
2
Draw a broad oval underneath the snout to form the shape of the mouth. Draw the legs and arms of the werewolf as zigzags with three parts. The legs point outwards from the body first then inwards and then out again. The position of the arms will depend upon the pose you want to set. Draw the paws as rough outlines with four dashes radiating from the end for the claws.

3
Draw on the ears as a pair of inverted "V"s sticking up from the circle of the head. Draw two, thin isosceles triangles slanted down towards the snout for a pair of narrowed eyes. Draw in two large incisor teeth at in the top of the mouth and fill all the space remaining in the gums with slightly smaller teeth.
-
4
Draw oblongs around the lines of the limbs. Draw curved lines around them width-wise to give them a three-dimensional effect. Draw around the outline of these oblongs. Draw a zigzagging line around the outer edge of the drawing for the fur. Add the outline of the paws and claws. Draw fur across the backs of the paws. Erase the construction lines.

5
Draw a string of drool hanging from the top jaw to the bottom. Shade in any shadows, particularly those beneath the head and brows and the inside of the mouth.
