Scrapbooking Layouts for Recipes
Recipe scrapbooks preserve favorite recipes and can add a touch of nostalgia to the cooking experience. Scrapbookers often create recipe scrapbooks to give as gifts or treasure as memorabilia. College-bound teens appreciate a homemade book of easy-to-prepare recipes and favorite snacks, and young brides treasure scrapbooks filled with favorite recipes adorned with photos and memories of their youth. You can create useful recipe scrapbook layouts by following a few basic guidelines.

Instructions

1
Create a title for your scrapbook page by using block or sticker letters to write the recipe name across the top or down the side edge of a sheet of construction or craft paper.
-
2
Test the layout of your recipe on the scrapbook page until you get the desired look; only when the layout is perfect should you begin to glue items into place.
-
-
3
Place the ingredient list at the top of the page alongside a photo of the prepared recipe or a seasonal sticker or other accessory to highlight the recipe.
-
4
Locate the recipe instructions in the center of the page for ease of reading and avoid distracting elements near the instruction text. Separate complicated instructions into steps and use stickers or special pens to number the steps.
-
5
Finish the page by adding keepsake photos, personal notes and other finishing touches at the bottom of the page where they will add to the experience but won't make the recipe difficult to use.
-
6
Glue the recipe, photos and embellishments into place and add any finishing touches. Insert the recipe scrapbook page into a clear sheet protector and seal the top of the page with clear tape. Insert the page into the notebook binder for easy access.

Tips & Warnings
Use the smaller 8 1/2-inch by 11-inch page size and a notebook binder to make the scrapbook easier to keep and use in the kitchen; traditional 12-inch square scrapbooks are unwieldy and do not open flat, making them difficult to use.
