How to Draw an Anime Girl Sitting
Anime is a popular style of illustration found in art, cartoons and comics. Drawing a figure of an anime girl is similar to traditional drawing, with a few distinctions. Anime style is less realistic and more exaggerated. There's also an emphasis on innocent, youthful looks and schoolgirl clothing. To draw an anime girl sitting down, you need to position the curves of the body realistically, so that the seated pose looks natural.

1
Draw a circle for a head, but make the jawline angular with a pointed chin. Below the head, outline a neck and torso turned slightly to the right. Make the torso curve to accentuate the chest and waist.
-
2
Sketch over the torso to create a collared sailor dress, a common design in anime. Draw arms coming from the shoulders of the dress, to rest in front of the body. Extend the dress out at the bottom where the hips would be, and create a curve for the backside, starting below the waist.

3
Follow the hips to sketch the right leg resting slightly to the left of the body. Draw the left leg mirroring the right, but only partially in view. Draw the back of a foot on the end of the right foot.
-
4
Draw horizontal and vertical lines intersecting across the face to section the facial features into four areas. Draw the left eye in the top left section, and the right eye in the top right section. Draw a small curved nose in the center of the lines and a small line for a mouth.
-
5
Make the eyes the largest feature on the face and draw eyebrows above them. Make the irises the largest part of the eyes. Draw choppy, angular hair around the head for an edgy look.
