How to Look at All Craigslist Ads at Once

Search Craigslist nationwide to find what you're looking for.

Craigslist is a free nationwide classified ad website with listings in virtually every imaginable category and interest. However, because Craigslist's listings are divided by city and state, searching all of Craigslist for a particular item or specific listing can be a herculean task. Craigslist has no mechanism for searching the entirety of its listings at once, but you can use Google's Advanced Search to sort through the thousands of listings and display all of the Craigslist ads desired at once.

Instructions

    • 1

Visit google.com and click on the "Advanced search" link directly to the right of the search bar.

    • 2

Type in the item or key words you're searching for in the box next to "all these words" under "Find web pages that have." You can also use the "this exact wording or phrase" field to narrow your search or the "one or more of these words" field to broaden your search.

    • 3

Enter the word "directory" in the option bar next to "any of these unwanted words" under "But don't show pages that have" to filter out irrelevant results such as telephone or business listings.

    • 4

Enter "Craiglist.org" in the option bar next to "Search within a site or domain" to limit your search to the Craigslist website.

    • 5

Click on the "Advanced Search" button in the lower right-hand corner of the screen to execute your search.

Tips & Warnings

  • An alternative to using Google search to view all Craigslist ads is All Of Craigs, a website that performs the same operation with one search bar.
