Drawing is not reserved just for artists, and it's never too late to start learning. A star is a very simple shape that anyone can learn to draw in less than 5 minutes. With the proper method you can easily draw a perfect star every time and fill up pages with these brilliant pointed shapes. With practice, you'll be able to draw a skyline full of stars and maybe even teach your kids what you've learned.
Things You'll Need
Draw an upside-down "V" shape on a piece of paper. Do not lift the pencil when you finish making the line coming back down from the apex of the pointed shape.
Keep the pencil at the end of the line you just drew. Draw a straight line at a 45-degree angle slanting up and to the left.
Draw a line straight across from left to right.
Make a straight line connecting your end point to the starting point. This line will slant down and to the left.
Draw a straight, vertical line. Cross through the halfway point of the line with a horizontal line of equal length. You should have an image that looks like a plus sign.
Draw a diagonal line from the bottom left quadrant of the shape to the top right. Be sure that the line crosses over the center point.
Draw a diagonal line from the bottom right quadrant to the top left. Make sure that all of the lines are of equal length so that your asterisk-style star is symmetrical.
Tips & Warnings
- Draw the star within a circle to help guide your lines so that they are of equal length. After you have finished drawing the star, you can erase the circle.
