How to Thin Your Face in Photoshop

Adobe Photoshop has been one of the most preeminent graphics editing tools in the PC marketplace for many years. With it, you can apply a wide array of visual effects to digital pictures, or experiment with combining them to create additional effects that are limited only by your imagination. A task for which many people use the software is the touching up of personal photos. Using Photoshop's many graphical filters, you can do things like making your face thinner with just a few mouse clicks.

  • Open the picture you wish to edit in Photoshop.

  • Click on "Filter" in the top navigational menu and select "Liquify."

  • Click on the "Forward Warp" tool. Place the crosshair at the very left edge of your face and push it gently toward the center of the face. You will see the pixels begin to drag themselves inward, creating a thinner appearance.

  • Repeat Step 3 from the right side of the face for a symmetrical look.

  • Hit CTRL+S to save your image.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you are unhappy with the result of your warp, you can undo it at any time by pressing CTRL+Z.
  • Experiment with the brush sizes of the Forward Warp tool for a more precise touch up.
