How to Delete a Selection in Illustrator
One of the ways that drawing with a computer program is more convenient than drawing on paper is that, if you want to get rid of something, you don't have to erase every single separate line. Instead, you can just select the things you don't like and delete them without any mess or any mistakes.
With Adobe Illustrator, the graphic design program, you can select any number of objects at once, and delete them all with the click of a button.

1
Open Adobe Illustrator. Open the Illustrator file that you want to edit.

2
Click the Selection tool. The Selection tool is in the Tools toolbar, which is, by default, on the left-hand side of the window. The Selection tool is in the top-right corner of the Tools toolbar. It looks like a black mouse cursor.

3
Determine what part of your project you would like to delete.
-
4
Move the cursor to the area you want to delete. Click and hold down the mouse button. Drag the mouse over the area you want to delete. This will create a square outline. Everything inside this square will be selected.
-
5
Open the Edit menu at the top of the screen. Click "Clear". This will delete the selected object(s).
