How to Export Diaryland Entries

Preserve your Diaryland entries by saving them.

The online diary website Diaryland allows users to create personal diary entries that include a title, date and tags. Users can categorize their entries, edit their blog's HTML and manage comments left by others. If you wish to backup your Diaryland entries, export your blog using the open-source program Moveable Type. If you do not want to install a new program, save each of your entries in a word document.

Instructions

1. Perform a simple backup of your Diaryland entries. Open a document program by double-clicking on its icon. Click on the "File" menu and scroll to "New." Visit your Diaryland website. Highlight the text of the blog, including the title and date. Right-click and scroll to "Copy." Right-click in the word document and scroll to "Paste" to paste the content of one entry. Repeat the copy and paste process until you save all of your entries.

2. Visit MoveableType and download the software. Double-click on the downloaded icon to launch the Installation Wizard. Follow the Wizard's instructions to install the program.

3. Double-click on the "Moveable Type" icon to launch the program.

4. Click on the "Blogs" toll and click "Manage." Click on the "Add" option. Enter your Diaryland blog's information in the pop-up window and press the "OK" button.

5. Press the "System Overview" button and click on the "Tolls" option, and then the "Export" option. Click on the "Select Blog" link and fill the circle next to the name of your Diaryland blog. Press the "Export Blog" button to save the entries to your hard drive.
