How to Take a Cute Webcam Photo
Webcams are more commonly used than they used to be thanks to sites like Skype that allow for free webcam phone calls. Webcams are also built into many computers as an added feature so their use has increased as a result. Many people take self-portraits with webcams for the purposes of social media sites such as Myspace or Facebook. Taking a photo that suits you while using a webcam requires some preparation and basic equipment.

1
Pick a location. Your background plays a large role in your photo's overall appearance, even if it is blurry. If the background near your webcam is not appealing, hang a white piece of poster board over it so it is not seen and you remain the focus of the photo.
-
2
Add lighting to the area where you are taking the picture. Webcam pictures are often a bit blurry or pixelated due to a lack of proper lighting. A regular lamp added next to the camera can greatly improve the photo's overall quality and therefore improve your appearance.

3
Wear makeup to improve your skin tone for the photo while also covering up any blemishes such as pimples or wrinkles.
-
4
Choose clothing that is a different color from your eyes. Your eyes should stand out in a good photo and you don't want your clothing to distract from them.
-
5
Position yourself in front of the camera so it can pick up the top of your head down to the top of your chest. A photo that is too close or too far away will not do your face justice.
-
6
Smile. A cute photo is usually one that involves a smile since it make you look more pleasant, warm and inviting. Smiling also improves the appearance of your eyes and will make your photo much more appealing than one that is straight-faced.
-
7
Take multiple photos and then choose the one that you feel most benefits you.
