How to Paint Random Colors in Illustrator

Adobe Illustrator is a graphic design program you can use to create digital art. When a project is started, you can apply random colors to paint a picture. Options that you can use to paint random colors include the Paint Brush tool and the Live Paint Bucket tool. Small areas that need color require use of the Paint Brush tool and larger areas can be filled by using the Live Paint Bucket tool.

  1. Paint Brush Tool

      Double-click the Adobe Illustrator icon to open the program.

      Click the tool for "Paint Brush" that is on the left side of the toolbar. Click the color that you want to draw from the color palette.

      Select a brush from the "Brush" panel and then click on the screen. Drag the cursor across the screen to paint the color.

    Live Paint Bucket Tool

      Click the "File" drop-down menu and select "New" to start a new Illustrator project.

      Click the tool for "Paint Bucket" that is on the left side of the screen.

      Click the options you want to use for the fill color and the stroke color size.
