How to Husk Corn
For most dishes involving corn, you must husk the corn first. Roast corn on the cob is the one exception, as you can perform this task while the corn is still in the husk. Husking corn is an easy process that people of all ages can carry out. Just be careful to watch for earwigs --- small bugs that like to hide in corn. Husking corn can be messy, but few dishes are as tasty as fresh corn, making the mess totally worth it. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Take hold of the top of the ear of corn. Ensure that you grab the corn itself, rather than the husk, by reaching just inside the husk and around the corn silks. (Corn silks are the thin hair-like strands along the corn). This technique will help keep the corn steady.
-
2
Peel the husk partially away from the top of the corn cob so you can see each section of the husk. The husk consists of several pieces; as you pull down, they should start to separate.
-
-
3
Remove each husk leaf by pulling it off in a downward motion. Repeat this step continually, working your way around the cob until you have removed all the husk.
-
4
Snap off the bottom end of the cob to get rid of the rest of the husk, and use your hands to brush away any remaining corn silk.
-
5
Throw away the husk, silks and the bottom of the cob.
