How to Reset a Nuvi 260 Password

Garmin Nuvi 260 users can lock the GPS with a feature called Garmin Lock. Garmin Lock uses a four-digit password called a PIN. You can also unlock the Nuvi without the PIN by traveling to the location you were at when you set the code. Once you are at this location, the Nuvi unlocks, allowing you to reset the PIN using the menus.

Instructions

1. Travel to the security location where you set the password. The Nuvi bypasses the PIN lock screen.

2. Tap "Tools" and select "Settings."

3. Touch "Security" and tap the button under "Garmin Lock."

4. Type a new four-digit password.

Tips & Warnings

• If you don't remember your PIN and cannot get to your security location, you will have to send the Nuvi to Garmin along with a proof of purchase or product registration. Contact Garmin support at 913-397-8200 or 800-800-1020.
