How to Reinstall MIDI Output Drivers on My Dell Desktop 4400 Series Computer

The Dell 4400 is a desktop computer designed to run the Windows XP operating system. The Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI) is used to connect a digital instrument to a computer to send and receive data. This is an important feature for musicians who want to sync two or more digital instruments together or send data back and forth through MIDI ports on the instrument. Instructions

1. Open your system's web browser.

2. Go to the "Yamaha USB MIDI Driver" page.

3. Click on the download version for your XP system. For example, if you are using Windows XP 32-bit, click on the "Windows XP 32-bit" download.

4. Click on the installer once it has downloaded to your computer's desktop. At the bottom of the software agreement, click the "I Agree" option when prompted, and then click "Next."

5. Click "Install" and wait for the drivers to install on your computer. Click the "Finish" option.

6. Click "Restart" to restart your computer. Wait for the computer to restart with your drivers reinstalled.
