Gold silk laurel leaves
Create a Roman emperor costume and be the leader of the toga party. This is also a good costume for a history or Latin class project, and it is essential if you are presenting Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar." The toga was a voluminous garment; to reproduce the look you will need a large piece of fabric. Two king-size sheets will create the proper effect. A plain undershirt is a good substitute for the tunic which would have been worn under the toga.
Toga
Step 1
Sew the ends of two king-size sheets together.

Step 2
Fold the resulting piece of fabric in half length-wise.
Step 3
Drape the fabric over your left shoulder so that the piece in front of your body just reaches the floor. The fold should be next to your neck. The other end should reach down your arm to your hand.
Step 4
Pull the fabric hanging down your back under your right arm. Bring it across your chest and throw it over your left shoulder.
Step 5
Adjust the folds to achieve a pleasing effect.
Laurel wreath
Step 1
Make a circle of wire that fits around the crown of your head.
Step 2
Use more wire to attach a spray of laurel leaves to the wire. Gold laurel leaves are available at floral and craft stores.
Step 3
Add additional sprays to the circle. The leaves of each spray should overlap the stem of the previous spray until the whole circle is covered.
Tip
Use a brooch on your left shoulder to hold the fabric in place. Wear sandals.
