How to Lock Charts in Excel
Excel 2010 is a powerful spreadsheet program that can help you create professional-looking charts and tables from your data. If you've created a complex chart, you may not want the casual user to be able to make changes to it. The solution is to protect the worksheet with a password, which protects all of the worksheet elements, including charts and graphs.

1

3
Click "Allow All Users of This Worksheet To" and then select the elements you want people to be able to change. For example, even though the chart is protected, you may want users to be able to format cells, insert rows or perform sort functions on the worksheet.

Type a password into the "Password to Unprotect Sheet" box and then click "OK." You need to type the password again to confirm it.
