How to Change the Filter of an Emerson Dehumidifier

An Emerson dehumidifier is a valuable appliance for areas of the home that need moisture removed from the air, like a basement. The Emerson dehumidifier has a water reservoir and a filter that traps particles of dirt. The frequency with which the filter must be changed depends on the air quality where you live, but every three months is the general rule of thumb. Change the filter on an Emerson dehumidifier with little effort in just a couple of minutes.

Instructions

1. Unplug the dehumidifier's electrical cord from the wall outlet.

2. Locate the water reservoir, which depending on the model might be accessible from the back or the top.

3. Lift the water reservoir straight up to remove it from the dehumidifier.

4. Find the filter, which should now be visible. Push in on the side tabs and slide the filter out of its mount.

5. Place a new filter in the same location in the dehumidifier as the old one occupied. Snap the tabs in place and return the water reservoir to its original location. Plug the electrical cord back into the wall outlet.
