1
Search for the address of the celebrity you want to contact. If you can't find an address, search for fan groups dedicated to your person of interest.
-
2
Write the opening of the letter to your idol. Include information about yourself: your name, age and where you live are good openers. Tell the celebrity what you appreciate about them as a person and about their work. Don't overdo it, though -- it may be taken the wrong way.

3
Ask for an autographed photo near the end of your letter. Say something such as "I admire you and your work greatly and would very much appreciate an autographed picture."
-
4
Include a self-addressed stamped envelope. You are more likely to get a response from the celebrity you have written to if you include an envelope, which could make their compliance time faster at no cost to them.
