Step 1

Cut two pieces of waxed linen string to desired length. Think of one string as "A" and the other as "B" to help with following instructions.

Grasp end of string A in right hand and string B in your left hand.

Step 3

Cross string A over string B in an "X" formation.

Step 4

Cross string A to the right and wrap around string B, as if you were starting to tie a bow in a shoelace.

Cross string A over string B once more, creating another "X" formation.

Step 6

Wrap string A around string B, once to the left.

Step 7

Pull loose ends tightly to create a secure square knot.
